Are Geico and Progressive the same company?

The Progressive Corporation is a large auto insurance company that was founded on March 10, 1937 by Joseph Lewis and Jack Green. Progressive auto insurance found its niche insuring more risky drivers in 1956. In 2016 alone Progressive made $23.44 billion in revenue. The Government Employees Insurance Company also known as GEICO was founded in 1936.
